The course is proposed for physiotherapists and students of the Physiotherapy Degree Course (third year of course) interested in deepening their knowledge in the lymphatic field.
It will be divided into two modules, with the possibility of registering both for both of them and for a single module.
In the first module of the course (Course EM 137, 13-14-15 September 2019) topics such as the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system, the evaluation of edemas and the treatment of lymphedema and lipedema according to national and international guidelines will be discussed. This first module will focus on the treatment of the lower and upper limbs; the third day in particular will focus on the evaluation and treatment of lipedema.
The second module (Course EM 138, 24-25-26 January 2020) will focus on specific topics, such as the treatment of genitals and face. There will also be ample space dedicated to the rehabilitation of breast-operated women, addressing not only the topic of lymphedema of the arm and breast but also the clinical and surgical aspects of this pathology, as well as the related complications.
The course will present theoretical parts and parts of practice among the participants and the demonstration of evaluation and treatment of patients by teachers.
The peculiarity of the course will be the treatment proposal both with traditional manual skills and with Linforoll®.
The part on the bandage will be made with short stretch bandages and silicone bandages. It will therefore be a complete proposal on the panorama of lymphology rehabilitation, with attention to topics and treatment techniques centered on Evidence Based Practice; ideal for physiotherapists who already have experience in the specific field and who wish to confront themselves with new techniques and for those who do not yet know physiotherapy in lymphology because they will learn effective treatment techniques, immediately applicable in the workplace.
